Sally Saur

Sally has trained and shown horses in western pleasure, hunter under saddle, and trail,  and is currently focusing on ranch riding.  This discipline is the fastest growing western event and Sally’s knowledge of training and show ring presentation will be evident in this clinic. Thirty-two years as an elementary teacher have honed her coaching skills.   Sally and her husband, Roger, have been training and showing horses in Washington State for over 30 years.  

Sally will be teaching Ranch Riding

Day 1 – We will be working on the importance of the walk and trot. Walk over and trot over poles will be addressed.

Day 2 – We will cover the extended trot and lope, and how to train for downward transitions.

Day 3 – We will cover a ranch riding stop. How to improve steering and straight lines, and lead changes
