Clinician & Trainers Showdown Judge

Cain is a 4th generation horse trainer, born in Southern Saskatchewan. His parents were rodeo stock contractors for many years. He started riding before he could walk and he started his first colt when he was 8 years old.

Cains teenage years were spent rodeoing. He was a finalist in events such as bullriding, saddlebronc and bareback riding. Cain worked for several large ranches and Government leases where a-horseback he cared for thousands of head of cattle.

Cain currently runs a full time training and boarding facility with his wife Roberta in Kendal Saskatchewan. He is a veteran clinician of 28 years, teaching approximately 300 clinics over the years. Clinics he has offered include colt starting, horsemanship, cutting, working cowhorse, ranch roping, barrel racing and mounted shooting. He trains a wide variety of horses, helping people achieve success in whatever show pen they choose to participate in.

Cain has trained multiple horses and non-pro riders to Canadian and World Championships. He’s competed and won titles in cutting, mounted shooting, cowhorse, colt challenges, and roping. He has found success in all areas of the horse world, and his skills have been showcased in events all across Canada. Cain has shared his wisdom and knowledge with thousands of people from all different disciplines and what he consistently brings to the plate is his patience, understanding and connection with the horse – and the crowd. Cain strongly believes in education and supporting people through their horse journey.

One of Cains greatest skills is his ability as a teacher. He has the unique ability to successfully teach to any level of rider, riding any level of horse. We truly do believe that Cain Quam Performance horses is “Where you and your horse find success”

Cain will be teaching Mounted Shooting

Day 1 – Importance of strategic physical preparation for both horse and rider and its relationship to the effectiveness of the mental preparation.

Day 2 – The direct feedback from competition that you will use to modify both your physical and your mental preparation.

Day 3 – Be fearless. There is no failure, just feedback. The feedback is the key to the locked door. Learn to recognize the success with the failure and reward yourself.
