Kelcie Mills

Junior Rodeo & Junior Horsemanship

Kelcie Mills is the founder and head coach of the Erin Valley Rodeo Academy, a Rodeo School located in Kamloops, BC. Being the youngest daughter of Doug & Lynette Mills, her passion for teaching people started at a young age.

She has been competing in rodeos since age 3, growing up in associations like Little Britches and High School Rodeo. Here she became very involved with being an ambassador for the sport itself. Kelcie has always been very passionate about how the rodeo lifestyle has changed lives for the better. She developed a lesson program and began to haul her students to Rodeos in 2005.

With added competition you could see the students turn into passionate, confident cowboys and cowgirls in such a short amount of time. Riding horses that build confidence instead of take it away is a key part of the process. Both horse and rider must understand how to communicate correctly and this is exactly what we teach.

Using the Training Thru Trust method, Kelcie has developed a program to train user friendly rodeo horses that are easy to run for every age and level of rider. This is the base of her Rodeo Academy where she provides horses & instruction to teach you everything from building a relationship with your horse to building a loop.
